Instructions for Filling JEE Main 2023 Online Application Form

The JEE Main 2023 online application form is now available for students who want to take the entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), other centrally funded institutes and some state-funded institutions. The last date to fill and submit the form is JANUARY 2023.

In order to apply for JEE Main 2023, candidates will have to visit the online application portal and fill in their personal and academic details. The following are the steps that need to be followed while filling the form:

Step 1 – Registration

Candidates will first have to register on the online application portal. They will need to fill in their personal and academic details. The following documents need to be uploaded:

  1. Photographs – Without the photo being pasted on the form, no other information will be accepted by the website regarding registration.
  2. Proof of Identity.
  3. Proof of Residence.
  4. Educational Certificates – Class X onwards

Step 2 – Login/Register

Once the application form is submitted, candidates will have to 'click here' and enter their login credentials which would be sent to them on their registered mobile number. It is necessary for candidates to note this while filling in the form so that they do not forget it later on. The details entered while applying cannot be changed even after submitting the form.

Step 3 – Filling the Application Form

The application form will require the following details to be filled:

  1. Personal Details.
  2. Contact Details.
  3. Guardian's Details.
  4. Academic Details.
  5. Exam Centre Choice.
  6. Declaration.
  7. Fees Payment.
  8. Uploading of Documents

1. Personal Details:

The following details need to be filled in by the candidates:

  1. Name.
  2. Father's Name.
  3. Mother's Name.
  4. Date of Birth.
  5. Gender.
  6. Nationality.
  7. Category.
  8. Religion.
  9. Domicile State.
  10. Address for Correspondence.
  11. Email ID.
  12. Mobile Number

2. Contact Details:

Candidates are required to provide their current residential address, the city in which they are staying, the PIN code of the city/district/state and country. The state cannot be changed once it has been selected while filling the form. Candidates will also have to enter their mobile number as well as email ID.

3. Guardian's Details:

Guardian's details such as Father's Name, Mother's Name and Occupation have to be filled in by the candidates. If the parents are divorced or the candidate is an orphan, then the guardian's details need to be filled in accordingly.

4. Academic Details:

Candidates are required to provide their 10th, 12th and graduation marksheets. Photographs of candidates need to be pasted on the form for verification purposes at a later stage.

5. Exam Centre Choice:

This is one of the most crucial points while applying for JEE Main 2023 as applicants do not get a chance to change their centre once the form is submitted. Applicants will have to choose 4 examination centres in order of preference. The exam centres are allotted on a first come first serve basis and candidates are not allowed to change their chosen centres later on.

6. Declaration:

This section requires candidates to read and agree to the following terms and conditions before filling up the form:

  1. I am eligible to appear in JEE (MAIN) 2023
  2. I will submit all the required documents at the time of counselling
  3. Any changes in my documents will be submitted to JAB, with appropriate fees applicable
  4. All taxes due under any law shall be borne by me and no payment will be refundable
  5. I am not debarred from appearing in JEE (MAIN) 2023 and, if selected for admission to a participating institute, I will abide by the rules and regulations of the participating institute(s).

7. Fees Payment:

A non-refundable fee of Rs.1,500 needs to be paid by the candidates in order to complete the application process. The fee can be paid through Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.

8. Uploading of Documents:

The following documents have to be uploaded by the candidates:

  1. Photographs – Without the photo, the application form will not be accepted
  2. Signature – The signature has to be done on the white background in blue or black ink
  3. Class X Marksheet
  4. Class XII Marksheet
  5. Graduation Marksheet
  6. Category Certificate (if applicable)
  7. Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  8. ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License etc.)

Once the JEE MAIN Application form is filled and all the documents are uploaded, candidates need to click on the "Submit" button. After submission of the form, no changes can be made in it. Hence, it is important for candidates to fill in all the details correctly.
